What is FLAC?
FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec, an audio format similar to MP3, but lossless, meaning that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to how Zip works, except with FLAC you will get much better compression because it is designed specifically for audio, and you can play back compressed FLAC files with FLAC Player+ app just like you would an MP3 file.

I was looking for an app playing flac files. I discovered it also plays ape files. Couldnt ask for more. Apple is way behind in this area. Thanks.

Ive been using FLAC Player + for about two weeks now and Im happy with it. I went thru the App Store and tried out all the free players that I could find. I like FLAC Player + the best because I can use it without having to fool with iTunes and because its the only player that I could find that works with iCloud. I already have all my bit torrent downloads stored in iCloud and I didnt want to have to give up iCloud and move everything to another cloud service that the other players require you to use.
The reasons I gave it four stars instead of five is that Ive had it inexplicably close down when I try to upload some files and I cant figure out how to remove a file that I uploaded by mistake. It seems to sometimes just refuse to upload a file and just crashes on me. Ive emailed the developer to see if I can get an answer on how to delete files uploaded in error.
A simple FLAC player. Its nothing special, but its nice to have!
Apple has so royally screwed up its Music app and the way it connects with iTunes that I use this exclusively for music, not just for FLACs. Its so easy to upload and manage.
Some bad moments
As I moved my CD library to FLAC I searched for the most efficient set up for both my phone and my computer. I tried several apps. This one didnt work for me. Still cant get it to play anything from iCloud. Does it work? Im sure it does. Is there some user error? Most likely if I cant get it to play one song. How much time am I willing to spend figuring it out? Not much. Plenty of other apps out there.

Does what it claims (which is play Flac files), but for some reason asks you every time you use it to write a review
You CANNOT PLAY FLAC FILES IN GOOGLE DRIVE WITH LAST UPDATE. USELESS.
...but the incessantly annoying requests for a review finally led me to write this review. You decide; I guess this is what you get for $0.99.
This has everything I wanted in a music player; it was perfect. This renders it useless to me. Please add this feature!
